Christoph Winges (RFWU Bonn): Coarse homology theories and assembly maps
Abstract
Coarse homology theories provide an analogue of homology theories which
is adapted to the purposes of large-scale geometry, and can be used to
construct concrete models of assembly maps. I will give an outline how
they allow us to structure proofs for the injectivity of certain
assembly maps by separating geometric input from conditions we need to
impose on the invariant under consideration. As time allows, I will
sketch some examples which fit into this framework but have not been
known before.
Joint work with Ulrich Bunke, Alexander Engel and Daniel
Kasprowski.
